National & Illinois State Annual Cornhusking Contest

Celebrate the 100th Anniversary of this time-honor tradition of hand corn picking. Open to the public. Twelve divisions including Junior, Pee Wee and Novice.

Illinois State Contest, October 15th – National Contest, October 16th

Registration at 8 am contests starts at 9 am.

Illinois Membership is required to pick in the classes to qualify for the national cornhusking contest.

Illinois Membership is $3 for youth and $15 for all adult classes.

FREE ADMISSION FOR ALL SPECTATORS!!

Top three contestants in each class qualify for the national contest.

National – Class – Age – Length

Girls – Youth – 10 through 14 – 10 minutes
Boys – Youth – 15 through 20 – 10 minutes

Women – 21 through 49 – 20 minutes
Men – 21 through 49 – 20 minutes

Women – 50 and Up – 20 minutes
Men – 50 and Up – 20 minutes

Senior Women – 75 and Up – 10 minutes
Senior Men – 75 and Up – 10 minutes

Women’s Open – Any Age – 20 minutes
Men’s Open – Any Age – 30 minutes

Illinois Pee Wee Contest
12:30 pm. The length will be up to 2 minutes depending on the number of contestants.
The ages will be Girls 6 to 9, Boys 6 to 9, Girls 10 to 12, and Boys 10 to 12 years old.
Those who participate in the youth national qualifying matches are not eligible for the Pee Wee contests.
No fee for the Pee Wee contest.

Illinois Novice Class
A Novice Class will also be held this year for anyone interested in trying picking com by hand.
Information will be available the day of contest about time and the cost.

Any changes to the Illinois hand corn picking contest rules will be announced the day of the contest.
